The snow-capped Sunnmøre Alps rise thousands of feet above the deep waters of Hjørundfjord, one of the hidden gems of this nature-blessed part of Nor- way. This region is where sheer-walled fjords meet jagged peaks, where the quaint meets the dramatic, and where the hikes are the perfect blend of effort to reward. We’ll hike the trails of Hjørundfjord as well as UNESCO-listed Geirangerfjord, explore by kayak, visit small villages. We begin and end in charming Ålesund, a city spread over small islands in the Atlantic.

Hike & Kayak The Fjords
This trip offers an amazing adventure through Norway’s stunning landscapes, blending outdoor activities with breathtaking fjord and mountain views. You’ll explore scenic trails and ridge hikes, experiencing panoramic vistas of snow-capped peaks, deep blue fjords, and dramatic waterfalls.
Along the way, you'll pass through charming villages, traverse historic trails, and even enjoy a thrilling cable car ride to mountain summits. The hikes range from moderate to more challenging routes, providing a variety of experiences for nature lovers. Between activities, there’s time to relax in our cabin in the mountains, enjoying the breathtaking views and chatting about the memories of the trip.
With a blend of physical activity and awe-inspiring scenery, this trip provides the perfect mix of adventure and relaxation, making it an unforgettable exploration of Norway’s fjords and mountains.

Trip requirements
This is a moderate trip so you will need to have some previous hiking experience on different terrains. You will need to:
have the ability to hike 10km
be able to hike up to 945m of elevation in one day
be happy travelling in a group, sharing accommodation/rooms and have a good sense of adventure

Secure your place on this trip with a £300 deposit. The full amount will then be due 90 days before the trip departs.

WHERE DO we meet?
We will meet in Ålesund (exact location to be confirmed).
What time do we need to arrive?
We will meet at Ålesund Airport at 6pm on the first day of the trip and you are free to leave anytime on the final day of the trip as there are no activities planned after breakfast.
WHAT SHOULD MY hiking ABILITY BE?
You need to have a good level of hiking fitness and be able to hike on alpine terrain. Each day will vary the distance from 6-10km and you will need to be happy to do 945m of elevation ascending/descending.
WHAT WILL THE GROUP SIZE BE?
We keep our groups nice and small, so we run the trips with a minimum of 5 and a maximum of 8.
WHAT IS THE FOOD LIKE?
We provide breakfast, lunch and dinner each day. For lunches, we will prepare sandwiches and lunches in the morning before we head out and dinner will be cooked, by the guide, each evening. You will need to supply your own snacks each day.
DO I NEED TRAVEL INSURANCE?
Yes, travel insurance is a must. It is your responsibility to ensure that you have the appropriate insurance to cover you for all aspects this trip, including cancellation.
CAN I COME ON MY OWN?
Yes, of course! It’s a great trip to meet new like-minded people.
