A 5 day trekking adventure across one of the most remote parts of Scotland. Classed as one of Europe’s last wilderness areas we will head off the beaten track, climb up some of the remotest munros on the list and get some of the best views across Scotland.
Join us on this epic adventure crossing this remote peninsula. As we are dropped off by the ferry, loaded with our packs we will climb up onto the ridge line, looking over to the impressive Culin mountains. We spend 5 days enjoying the best of the Scotland Wilderness and end the trip with a drink in the most remote pub in the UK.
An epic wilderness adventure
In a small group we will trek across the Knoydart peninsula hiking from 10-16km a day finding the best wild places to set up our base camp each night. Starting with a ferry from Malaig to Inverie we will get dropped off at the tiny port and hike through the small village before heading off for 5 days. This trip is for those who want to get off the trails and enjoy time in the true outdoors. We hike past beaches, through woods, up munros and hopefully around all the bogs!

WHAT SHOULD I PACK?
For some handy tips on what you might want to pack click here
WHERE DO I NEED TO GET TO?
We will meet at 9am in Malaig, where we will meet before getting the ferry over to Knoydart. If you need any reccomendations for a hotel the night before please let us know.
WHAT SHOULD MY HIKING ABILITY BE?
You will need some previous experience of hiking and camping, and you should be able to hike from 15-25km a day. We will be walking for 6-8 hours every day, carrying all our gear.
WHAT WILL THE GROUP SIZE BE?
We keep our groups nice and small, so we run the trips with a minimum of 4 and a maximum of 6.
WHAT IS THE FOOD LIKE?
We will eat expedition style food, and campfire dinners on the beach. We will pick up some fresh produce when we can but don’t worry you will be well fed. It’s always good to bring your own snacks though as everyone has their own preferences.
DO I NEED TRAVEL INSURANCE?
Yes, travel insurance is a must. It is your responsibility to ensure that you have the appropriate insurance to cover you for all aspects this trip, including cancellation.
CAN I COME ON MY OWN?
Yes, most of the people on our trips are solo travellers so this is perfect for you to join like-minded people.
HOW FIT DO I HAVE TO BE?
You need to have a good level of fitness and be used to moving for 5-6 hours a day (so its ideal for hikers who want to challenge themselves in tough highland terrain) You will be carrying your own gear and some shared equipment so you should factor that in. Some days are more challenging than others. And there are always options to make it harder/easier. Feel free to get in touch and we can discuss more about the details.
